A Declaration of Sustainable Travel

"Sustainable Travel" goes beyond eco-friendliness. It represents a delicate harmony between nature, culture, and the local economy—a mindful way of exploring that respects the needs of visitors, businesses, and the community.

We are living in a defining era where human impact has brought us to a critical crossroads. Recognizing the significant changes to our environment, we are committed to finding creative ways to make a difference. At The Place Taipei, we promise to embed sustainability into the heart of our daily service. We invite every traveler to join us in building a future that is both meaningful and enduring.

2025

  • In March 2025, we collaborated with local businesses around the hotel to create an exclusive travel-and-stay experience, including a hands-on recycling workshop developed by Trash Kitchen, a visit to the “MUSIC, ISLAND, STORIES:POP MUSIC IN TAIWAN” exhibition at the Taipei Music Center, and a fun-filled outing for children at PaPark Parent-child Paradise.

  • From March to April 2025, in collaboration with Le Ballon Rouge Bookstore, we launched a reading initiative, transforming a portion of the Lunar New Year gift set proceeds into a shared reading fund. This fund supported reading sessions for children in rural areas at three elementary schools in New Taipei City. Hotel staff personally visited the schools to create immersive experiences that combined storytelling, interactive activities, and creative crafts, bringing knowledge off the pages and into the hearts of the children.

Their illustrations are thoughtfully integrated into the room design, seamlessly blending art with accommodation to offer guests a unique cultural experience.

  • Since 2024, The Place Taipei has partnered with Le Ballon Rouge Bookstore to promote reading opportunities in rural areas. This year, the collaboration takes a further step with the launch of the “Reading Passbook Project,” introduced through the hotel’s 6th-anniversary accommodation package, “Books NOVA.”Continuing the vision of “discovering local stories through books,” NT$50 from every “Books NOVA” booking will be donated to the project fund. In addition, “Reading Passbook Project” donation boxes are placed at both Le Ballon Rouge Bookstore and The Place Taipei to continuously collect contributions supporting children’s reading in remote communities.Children can simply present their student ID at Le Ballon Rouge Bookstore to freely choose a book they love and take it home to read, allowing the power of reading to keep spreading and shining in every corner.

  • Launching in September 2025, our 'Weekend Buffet Brunch' features an exclusive collaboration with the Kaohsiung Tzukuan District Fishermen's Association. We are proud to present a series of limited-edition mullet dishes. Guests can savor these unique delicacies and purchase specialty gift sets, making it easy to take the authentic seafood flavors of Kaohsiung home with them.

  • To celebrate Taipei Pride Month in October 2025, The Place Taipei featured vibrant rainbow décor across its public spaces. We offered a special themed stay package that included a complimentary "Sustainable Love Fabric Bookmark." Our restaurants also joined the celebration by serving limited-time rainbow desserts.
