The Place Taipei
The Place is a stylish designer hotel brand under the Hotel Royal Group. It emphasizes the hotel’s deep connection with the imagery and culture of the hotel’s location, and insists on the brand spirit of “Fun, Fusion, Fashion”. It was officially established in Taipei in 2019.
The interior design of the hotel was specially designed by the Dutch design team Mecanoo, which planned for 179 simple and chic rooms, public art and culture spaces, conference rooms and specialty restaurants. The hotel makes use of historical elements such as the harbor, red bricks and tea leaves to present the imagery of Nangang at different moments in time.
The hotel’s exterior and lighting design were jointly designed by internationally renowned masters C.Y. Lee and Yuan Tsung-nan. The exterior features a streamlined silhouette that enriches the skyline’s contours and adds character to the building, emphasizing its important location at a transportation hub; the new and unique moving lights that light up at night were the first in Taiwan to use new Wi-Fi-operated chips, creating a new landmark with unique characteristics in Nangang.
