Hotel Royal Group’s signature souvenir, the Royal Nougat, was once on the “Must Buy Souvenir of Taipei” list compiled by the Taipei City Government. The “Original Nutty Nougat” goes through 15 hours of natural fermentation, and is made from handmade French Echire cream, known as the “LV of Cream”; macadamia nuts from Queensland, known as the “King of Nuts”; the perfect combination of Japanese trehalose and Taiwanese maltose; and certified organic British Maldon sea salt to enhance the flavor.
It is a sweet delight with Michelin-grade ingredients and has been promoted by the Taipei City Government in Paris and Seoul, receiving widespread praise by the international food industry. Theresa Lin, the food and beverage director of Ang Lee’s Eat Drink Man Woman, even praised it as “comparable to that made in France, the birthplace of nougat!
