Hotel Royal was founded in 1977 in Taipei by Mr. Lin Ching-Po. The name “ROYAL,” echoing “Lao Yeh” in Chinese, symbolizes nobility. We stay true to our spirit, treating every guest like royalty.

An unwavering brand promise for nearly half a century
Hotel Royal Group originated in Taiwan, founded in 1977 by Mr. Ching-Po Lin, current President of Mutual Construction and Hotel Royal Group. Established under the name “Royal,” the brand was built on the spirit of hospitality that treats every guest as nobility.
Today, the Group has grown into an international hotel brand with 14 properties, spanning resorts, design-led lodgings, and city inns, with expansion overseas. Rooted in Taiwan, Hotel Royal continues to connect local culture with refined service, upholding its brand promise to "Create Unforgettable Stories."

Royal History
1970–1990|Origin of the Brand and Beginning of Internationalization
- The story of Hotel Royal began in 1977 with the opening of Chinfu Hotel.
- In 1983, Hotel Royal-Nikko Taipei officially opened, marking a new milestone. In 1989, the brand entered the international market with a new hotel project in Mauritius, showing a global vision.
- Building on steady growth, Hotel Royal continued to expand. Construction of Hotel Royal Chihpen began in 1990 and it opened in 1992 as the fourth property. In 1991, Sofitel Imperial Mauritius opened, representing the brand’s first overseas hotel.
- In 1993, the brand further expanded to Central America, taking over Crowne Plaza Managua in Nicaragua. In 1996, Hotel Royal Hsinchu was restructured into hotel operations and opened in 1999 as the sixth property. As the brand grew, Hotel Royal Chihpen applied for public offering in 1997 and was successfully listed in 1999.
- In 2001, Royal Management Consulting was established to integrate brand resources and enhance operational efficiency. In 2002, construction of Hotel Royal Chiaohsi began, and the following year Chinfu Hotel was renamed Royal Inn, further strengthening the brand image.
- In 2004, hotel projects in Chiaohsi and Palau began simultaneously, opening in 2005 as the seventh and eighth properties. In 2009, the brand expanded again into Saigon, and in 2011 welcomed its ninth property.
- In 2010, Royal Management Consulting launched hotel development projects in Beitou and Tainan, driving diversification and regional expansion.
- As the brand developed, construction of The Place Tainan began in 2012, and in 2013 Royal Inn Taipei Linsen opened as the tenth property. That same year, collaborations with Shin Kong Life and DaYi Construction launched projects in Nangang and Taichung.
- In 2014, Hotel Royal Beitou opened as the eleventh property. In 2015, The Place Tainan officially opened, followed by projects in Taichung and Nangang, expanding the brand's footprint.
- In 2016, Royal Management Consulting partnered with PX Mart Cultural and Arts Foundation to develop The Place Yilan, which opened in 2017 as the thirteenth property (now closed).
- In 2017, Hotel Royal's founder, Mr. Lin Ching-Po, then president of Hotel Royal Group, received Taiwan's Tourism Special Contribution Award.
- In 2018, The Place Taichung opened as the fourteenth property. In 2019, The Place Taipei opened, further expanding the brand and consolidating its market presence.
- In 2024, Mr. Ching-Po Lin, founder of Hotel Royal and current President of FU TSU Construction and Hotel Royal Group, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, by the Government of Japan.

―― Located in the Zhongshan North Road district, managed by Okura Nikko Hotel Management. Close to MRT Zhongshan Station, major shopping and cultural areas. Combining Japanese attentive service and European elegance, it offers comfortable rooms, diverse dining, and full facilities, making it an ideal base for exploring Taipei.
Hotel Royal Chihpen|Opened November 29, 1992
―― Situated in Taitung's Chihpen Hot Spring area, surrounded by lush forests. Centered on hot spring wellness and natural scenery, it offers comfortable rooms, local cuisine, and leisure facilities for a relaxing resort escape.
Hotel Royal Hsinchu|Opened January 15, 1999
―― Located near Hsinchu Science Park with convenient access, ideal for business and leisure travelers. Known for elegant rooms, refined dining, and attentive service, it combines international standards with local hospitality for a premium stay.
Hotel Royal Chiaohsi|Opened April 30, 2005
―― Located in Yilan's Chiaohsi Hot Spring area, embraced by nature. With hot spring wellness at its core, it blends modern design and local culture, offering comfortable rooms, fine dining, and leisure facilities for a serene retreat.
Hotel Royal Beitou|Opened December 20, 2014
―― Situated in Taipei's famous hot spring area Beitou, close to Thermal Valley and green mountains. With wellness hot springs at its core, it integrates healthy dining, comfortable rooms, and professional treatments, offering a holistic healing experience.

The Place Tainan|Opened December 30, 2014
―― Built together with T.S. Mall, it combines fashionable shopping with local cultural experiences. With simple design infused with Tainan's heritage, plus creative dining and artistic ambiance, it allows travelers to enjoy the city's modern charm and humanistic appeal.
The Place Taichung|Opened July 17, 2018
―― Created in collaboration with Dayi Construction, it is adjacent to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and near Caowudao and Shenji New Village. With contemporary design woven into the city's culture, it offers comfortable stays and an artistic atmosphere, making it an ideal base to explore Taichung.
The Place Taipei|Opened March 21, 2019
―― Located in the heart of Nangang Software Park, close to Nangang Exhibition Center. Combining modern design with smart technology, it provides convenient, comfortable accommodations and diverse services, making it an ideal choice for business trips and city exploration.
